Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal may wish to bring Dutch ace Arjen Robben with him to Man United, but the midfielder insists he is happy in Munich.

Following a successful World Cup campaign cruising all the way to the semi final and achieving third place via the play-offs against hosts Brazil, Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal is Manchester-bound to start his new job as Man United chief.

The Dutchman has made no secret of his admiration for Netherlands’ star World Cup performer, 30-year-old Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, and has said there is ‘always room for him at Man United.’

But Robben, who following a stunning World Cup effort which included scoring three goals and getting himself on the shortlist for FIFA’s Golden Ball, has quashed any speculation of a move to Man United by insisting German Bundesliga side Bayern is the right club for him.

When Dutch media NOS asked the playmaker if he would be keen to move to Manchester, he replied:  “No, that’s what I told Louis van Gaal. I am happy at Bayern but he’s said there is always room for me (at United).

“Van Gaal is the best coach I’ve had. We’ve got a very special relationship.

“After the match he did ask me to come to Manchester, but I will not make a transfer. I’m at the right place at Bayern so that has nothing to do with van Gaal or United.”

Robben was a fan’s favourite at Chelsea last decade and won back-to-back Premier League titles under Jose Mourinho.

Since leaving the west London club in 2007 he has also enjoyed success in Spain and Germany, winning the La Liga title and the Spanish Supercup with Real Madrid in 2008 and the UEFA Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013.
