France Football report that Mapou Yanga Mbiwa is set to leave Newcastle United for a move to Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne.

The centre-back, who joined Premier League side Newcastle United in January 2013, has been made available for transfer by Toon boss Alan Pardew and a number of Ligue 1 sides have since shown interest.

Bordeaux, Lens, Marseille and Lille have all been credited with interest in both English and French press but it is now being reported by France Football that Saint Etienne are the team who have already agreed terms with the defender and will now discuss the right price with Newcastle.

The 25-year-old is keen to rebuild his career after falling down the pecking order at St. James Park and wants to return to his native France, with whom he has made three caps.

Meanwhile, Mathieu Debuchy, another Frenchman, is set to leave the club with a move to Arsenal all-but done and dusted after the full-back completed a medical earlier this week.
