Pogba’s agent breaks silence on Chelsea talk

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has not held a meeting to discuss a switch to Chelsea, according to his agent.

The France international has become one of the hottest properties in European football and has been linked with a host of cash-rich clubs since the summer transfer window reopened.

However, his camp has moved swiftly to deny suggestions in some quarters that they have met with Stamford Bridge officials to discuss a big-money move to west London.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, told Italian publication TuttoSport that his client is happy with conditions in Turin and no such appointments have been scheduled.

Raiola, who is one of the most powerful agents in world football and represent the interests of high-profile figures like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli said: “Paul to Chelsea? They are only fantasies.

“At Juve everything is perfect, there are no meetings.”

Chelsea have already strengthened their squad this summer with the acquisition of midfield man Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona and striker Diego Costa, who arrives from Atletico Madrid.

If they could convince former Manchester United youngster Pogba to join, it would probably cost them in the region of £55million.

He has two years remaining on his contract at Juve and is likely to be offered a lucrative extension if he or his club rejects his suitors’ overtures.
