West Ham chairman’s son blasts ‘fake photos of striker’

Sullivan

The son of West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has slammed fake photographs of transfer target Enner Valencia appearing to be in London.

The Hammers are in the process of trying to secure the signature of the Pachuca and Ecuador striker, who scored all three of his national side’s goals in this summer’s World Cup.

They have high hopes of successfully concluding a deal, which could see them splash out somewhere in the region of £12million in the coming days.

However, Jack Sullivan took to social media site Twitter to deny that the 25-year-old has arrived in the capital.

He told his followers: “Photos Of Valencia At Heathrow are FAKE, he’s not in London at this time.”

Meanwhile Sullivan, who will watch Sam Allardyce’s side in action in a pre-season friendly tomorrow, revealed at least one more target could become a West Ham player next week.

He added: “We hope for at least one more signing next week, see you all at Stevenage tomorrow.#awaydays.”

Boss Allardyce is in the process of reshaping his squad after an inconsistent 2013-14 campaign which saw them flirt with relegation from the Premier League yet reach the semi-finals of the League Cup.

They boasted a hugely-impressive defensive record but struggled in front of goal, prompting the end-of-season appointment of their former striker, Teddy Sheringham, as an attacking coach.
