Suarez tipped to outshine Sanchez

Former England international Rodney Marsh has backed Barcelona-bound Luis Suarez to eclipse new Arsenal signing Alexis Sanchez.

Liverpool talisman Suarez, who is banned by Fifa from all football activity for four months after biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini whilst on World Cup duty with Uruguay, is widely-expected to join Barca in the coming days.

Sanchez has left the Nou Camp and completed his £30million move to the Emirates Stadium, where he is expected to play a pivotal role in their push for major honours.

However, ex-Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers attacker Marsh feels Suarez will score more goals than the Chile forward during the 2014-15 campaign.

He also insists Suarez will prove to be the better all-round signing of the two men.

He said on Twitter: “EPL gets Sanchez – La Liga gets Suarez. I know who got the best of that switch.

“Ok, anyone want this for £10, Suarez will score more goals in La Liga next season than Sanchez in EPL.”

Sanchez’s arrival in north London comes on the back of several fine displays for his national side in the World Cup in Brazil.

His goal against the host nation in a 1-1 second round draw was the highlight of his tournament, and he and his team-mates only missed out on a place in the quarter-finals due to a penalty shoot-out defeat.
