Man United and Vidal reps hold final meeting

Vidal

Football Express News understands that officials from Manchester United and representatives of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal held one final meeting on Thursday evening.

TuttoSport claimed that the Red Devils were laying down the groundwork on a £31m deal for the Chilean World Cup star earlier this week.

But problems regarding Patrice Evra’s move to Juventus from Manchester United were said to be holding up progression in the deal, leaving the chances of Vidal joining Man United at a minimum.

However, it is now understood that the two clubs have put Evra’s future to one side and solely concentrated on discussions about Vidal, meeting late on Thursday night to discuss whether or not a deal could be finalised.

Vidal has been in superb form in recent seasons and has played a big part in the Turin side winning the Serie A title, but his future at the club became doubtful after the likes of Real Madrid and United began to make enquiries.

Madrid, who moved their attention to Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos are said to be no longer interested, leaving United in the driving seat to capture the midfielder.

Agent Fernando Felicevich, who is in London at present after concluding a deal for Alexis Sanchez to join Arsenal – is said to be keen to have both his top clients playing in the Premier League and will do all he can to agree personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit.
