Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has reportedly agreed personal terms with Serie A club Napoli as his Anfield exit moves closer.

According to Italian source Il Mattino, the Brazil international will be paid slightly in excess of £2million per year, with bonuses on top.

Napoli are yet to agree a fee with the Reds for his services, although the report claims he could initially join on loan with a view to a permanent switch, which would cost somewhere between £10m and £12m a year down the line.

The Italian Cup holders are trying to negotiate for the fee to only kick in when he has made at least 25 appearances, but the Merseyside giants have not agreed to this and talks are likely to continue today.

Lucas is said to have already set his heart on a reunion with former Reds boss Rafael Benitez in Naples, and is anxious to see the transfer go through.

His representatives have travelled to Rome and wasted no time in agreeing personal terms.

Lucas has been with Liverpool since the summer of 2007, when Benitez signed him from Gremio, and after a slow start he went on to establish himself as an important member of the squad.
