Football Express News understands that Alexis Sanchez has accepted a £150,000 per week contract with Arsenal and will join the Premier League club in the coming days.
The Chilean winger was told towards the end of last season that his future at the Camp Nou was up for question, despite having a consistent season and an impressive World Cup campaign with his country.
Sanchez, who joined the Catalan club from Udinese in Italy had initially been linked with a move back to Serie A with Juventus, but both Liverpool and Arsenal became front runners during the World Cup.
And, it is now understood that the latter have won the race to sign the tricky winger, beating off Liverpool, who turned their attentions to Benfica’s Lazar Markovic.
A £150k per week deal of five years is said to have been agreed earlier this week as Alexis and his agent Fernando Felicevich arrived in London for talks.
Alexis, who flew back to Barcelona yesterday following talks is now expected to be back in the English capital closer to the weekend to undergo a medical at the club and pose for club photos.
His contract at Arsenal will see him be the joint earner, matching Mesut Ozil, who is on the same wage.
