Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo claim that Arsenal will announce a deal for Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez in the coming hours after positive talks in London this week.

The Chilean winger has been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners since the start of the summer, despite having a superb season for La Liga giants Barcelona, which saw him finish only second to Lionel Messi in terms of goals and assists.

An impressive World Cup campaign for his country saw the former Udinese man further linked with a move to the Premier League, with the like of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool all being credited with interest, whilst Serie A champions Juventus had held a long term interest.

And, it is now understood that a deal is imminent with Arsenal set to announce officially an agreed £32m fee for the Chilean.

Alexis flew into London on Monday with agent Fernando Felicevich and held positive talks with the Gunners – a team he had previously told friends and colleagues in Barcelona that he would like to play for.

Alexis’ move to the Emirates stadium will make way for Luis Suarez to leave Liverpool and sign for Barcelona, whilst he becomes Arsene Wenger’s first of two expected signings this week, with the other being Mathieu Debuchy, who is close to joining from Newcastle United.
