Leeds snap up Italian keeper

Marco-Silvestri-Padova

Football Express News understands that Leeds United have completed the signing of Italian keeper Marco Silvestri from Chievo.

The Italian revolution at Leeds United seems to be continuing this week with the addition of keeper Silvestri, who joins just a week after his agent revealed that talks had begun with the Championship side.

The 23-year-old keeper, who has been capped for his country at U21 level has enjoyed three loan spells in the previous three seasons from parent club Chievo, playing for Reggiana, Padova and Cagliari.

However, his final loan spell with Cagliari in Serie A saw him make just three league appearances, making his debut against Parma in April.

His arrival will see the youngster push former Arsenal and Manchester City keeper Stuart Taylor for the number one spot.
