Milan meeting tonight to discuss Arsenal target

MARIO BALOTELLI

AC Milan will reportedly hold a meeting tonight to discuss the possible exit of Arsenal target Mario Balotelli.

According to Italian source Tutto Mercato Web, new head coach Filippo Inzaghi and vice-president Adriano Galliani are to thrash out the future of the former Manchester City man following weeks of speculation.

A source close to the Emirates Stadium told Football Express News the Gunners continue to monitor the situation with interest, although he is just one of a number of attack-minded targets.

The San Siro giants are now in a position to firm up their plans for the 23-year-old because his involvement in the World Cup has come to an end, with Italy crashing out prematurely at the group stage.

In typically enigmatic fashion Balotelli started the tournament in fine form, heading the winner in a 2-1 victory over England, but he performed poorly in successive 1-0 defeats to Costa Rica and Uruguay which culminated in elimination.

The striker, who left City at the start of 2013, still has three years remaining on his contract with Milan.

The report also reveals that Inzaghi – who replaced Clarence Seedorf at the helm last month – and Galliani will discuss the possible acquisition of Hellas Verona hitman Juan Iturbe, despite strong interest from Juventus, and Torino forward Alessio Cerci.
