Arsenal eye ‘the new Di Maria’

Kishna

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Ajax winger Ricardo Kishna, Football Express News can reveal.

The highly-rated wideman, who has been dubbed ‘the next Angel Di Maria’ by Dutch observers, earned rave reviews last term for a string of eye-catching displays which were reminiscent of the Real Madrid and Argentina star.

A source close to the Emirates Stadium told FEN that the Gunners are monitoring the 19-year-old’s progress with great interest and plan to send scouts to watch him in action in the opening weeks of the 2014-15 campaign.

He will remain in Amsterdam beyond the summer after finally putting pen to paper on a two-year contract, dashing suitors’ hopes of securing his services during the current transfer window.

Kishna had looked destined for the exit door on a free transfer but opted to sign an extension which runs until 2016.

However, a switch to north London before then remains a strong possibility if boss Arsene Wenger informs directors to firm up their interest with a concrete offer.

Wenger’s proven track record of developing young talent and turning them into proven internationals is likely to work strongly in Arsenal’s favour should a bidding war ensue.

Kishna’s agent, Mino Raiola, represents some of the biggest names in world football, including AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli and Paris Saint-Germain talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
