Arsenal have signed Greek forward Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for a fee of £34 million on a long-term contract.
The 24-year-old becomes Arsenal’s latest addition as the Premier League champions continue to strengthen their attacking options this window.
Tzolis arrives with an impressive record at club level, having scored 43 goals and provided 45 assists in 108 appearances for Club Brugge.
The signing follows the recent departure of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, who left Arsenal for Besiktas earlier this month.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta described the new arrival as an “extremely versatile attacking player” capable of operating across the front line.
“Christos naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line,” said Berta, outlining exactly why the club pursued the deal.
“He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.”
Berta added that Tzolis had “produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons” and would raise the squad’s technical level while bringing “positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality.”
Tzolis began his career at PAOK before moving to Norwich City, where he made 30 appearances between 2021 and 2024 and scored three goals.
During his time with the Canaries, he gained further experience through loan spells at Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf before making the move to Belgium with Club Brugge.
In a curious piece of football history, Tzolis actually made his Premier League debut against Arsenal, featuring in a 1-0 defeat at the club in September 2021.
The winger revealed that a conversation with manager Mikel Arteta played a key role in convincing him to make the move to north London.
“We talked about everything – about the club, about myself, about his plans, about me of course, about the team,” said Tzolis. “It was only positive things.”
The Greek international was eager to make clear the kind of player Arsenal supporters can expect to see week in, week out.
“I’m a direct player, I go for goals or assists. That’s my point of view as an attacker, as a winger.”
Tzolis also stressed his commitment to contributing in all areas of the pitch, adding: “I’m always hungry to score or to give the final pass to my team-mates. And I can say I work hard for the team, also in the defensive part.”
