Man City complete move for Willy Caballero

Willy-Caballero

Manchester City have completed the summer signing of Willy Caballero from Malaga.

Argentine keeper Caballero has been in superb form for Malaga since he joined the Andalusian club in 2011, helping them to a Champions League place in the 2012/2013 season, with whom he worked with Manuel Pellegrini.

And, his performance and friendship with the Chilean boss have now seen him make a £10m move to the Etihad stadium, joining his new team-mates later on Monday afternoon to undergo pre-season fitness tests.

Whilst it is expected that Caballero will play back-up to England keeper Joe Hart, questions have been raised over whether or not the latter will eventually be replaced, following a dip in form at the beginning of last season.

Meanwhile, new signing Fernando is also having pre-season fitness tests on Monday morning, before he will begin training with the rest of the players at City’s training ground.
