Football Express News understands that Liverpool have agreed a £25m fee with Benfica for Lazar Markovic, whilst a deal for Divock Origi is also close.
20-year-old Markovic is set to join Liverpool for a fee of £25m after both Liverpool and Benfica made a breakthrough in negotiations late on Sunday evening.
The talented forward will join Brendan Rodgers’ summer signings – Emre Can, Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, who sealed their moves to Anfield last week.
Markovic’s arrival means that the Merseyside club are likely to end their interest in Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, who has flown into London for talks with fellow Premier League side Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also closing in on the signing of Belgium youngster Divock Origi.
It is being reported that a £10m fee for Origi has been agreed with French side Lille, although some reports claim that the youngster will return to the Ligue 1 side on a one-year loan deal.
