Juventus close in on double United raid

Nani

Juventus are reportedly ready to ramp up their efforts to land Manchester United winger Nani.

Italian source La Stampa claims the Serie A champions will this week intensify the pursuit of the Portugal international and are likely to make contact with the Red Devils in the coming days with a view to opening a dialogue.

The report reveals the Turin giants are already closing in on Nani’s team-mate, Patrice Evra, and are close to securing the services of Real Madrid hitman Alvaro Morata.

Now head coach Antonio Conte has asked his employers to bring in forward Juan Iturbe from Hellas Verona as well as Cagliari striker Victor Ibarbo and United wideman Nani.

Ibarbo and Nani have returned home from World Cup duty with Colombia and Portugal respectively, which should make any potential deal easier to complete during the early stages of the summer transfer window.

Nani endured an injury-hit 2013-14 campaign at Old Trafford and could be tempted by a new challenge overseas, despite having four years left on his contract.

He made only 13 appearances for his team last term after falling out of favour with then-manager David Moyes prior to suffering several muscle problems which kept him sidelined for the majority of the season.
