Milan target France forward

Griezmann

AC Milan have reportedly entered the race for in-demand Real Sociedad attacker Antoine Griezmann.

According to QS, the San Siro giants are in the process of assessing a variety of attack-minded targets as they prepare to miss out to rivals Juventus for the signature of Hellas Verona’s Juan Iturbe.

They believe France international Griezmann is the man to bring flair and goals back to the club after enduring a torrid 2013-14 campaign which saw them finish eighth in the Serie A table and fail to lift a trophy.

Milan do not have a large transfer budget but have been buoyed by the fact that the winger has less than two years remaining on his contract with the La Liga outfit, giving them hope of pulling off a cut-price deal.

However, they are not alone in their admiration of the 23-year-old, who is coveted by clubs dotted across Europe after becoming one of the hottest properties in world football.

His stock has continued to rise following a good showing at this summer’s World Cup – an adventure which came to an end yesterday due to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Germany in the quarter-finals.

Milan head coach Filippo Inzaghi, who replaced Clarence Seedorf at the helm last month, has been given a remit to carry out an overhaul of his squad and he hopes Griezmann is one of the first arrivals.
