Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini and ex-Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli are reportedly in line for a job swap.

Prandelli, who resigned from his post after a torrid World Cup campaign in Brazil, will be confirmed as Mancini’s successor at Turkish giants Galatasaray on Monday, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The report also claims that Mancini remains the front runner to take the helm of the national side, and an agreement could be reached within weeks.

He parted company with Galatasaray after only one full season in charge after failing to lead them to domestic title glory last term, when they finished nine points behind champions Fenerbahce.

The 49-year-old did lift the Turkish Cup, but both parties decided a change was in the best interests of the club.

Prandelli is said to be on the verge of putting pen to paper on a £3.1million per year deal to succeed his compatriot in the dug-out, with a remit to finish the 2014-15 campaign at the top of the table.

He guided Italy to a 2-1 victory over England in the first group stage game last month, but successive 1-0 defeats at the hands of Costa Rica and Uruguay saw them crash out of the World Cup prematurely.
