Scotland are at their first men’s World Cup since 1998, and BBC Sport has introduced new ways to keep fans close to every moment of the campaign.

The broadcaster has responded to fan feedback by working to ensure Scotland supporters can place national team news front and centre throughout the tournament.

On the BBC Sport website, users signed in with a Scottish postcode will automatically receive additional Scottish stories on the front page during the World Cup.

Those not yet signed in can visit the BBC Sport website and follow the prompts to sign in using an existing BBC username and password.

Anyone without a BBC account can register directly on the page, with a dedicated section at the bottom reading “Don’t have a BBC account? Register now.”

Users already registered under a Scottish postcode will receive the extra Scottish content automatically through their Settings, without needing to take any additional steps.

Fans can also choose to follow specific topics including Scotland Sport, Scotland Men’s Football Team, and Scottish Football through the My Sport page on the website.

On the app, users are prompted to sign in or create an account when they first open BBC Sport, making the personalisation process straightforward from the very beginning.

Once signed in, navigating to the My Sport tab at the bottom of the screen allows users to choose which topics to follow, with Scotland Sport, Scotland Men’s Football Team, and Scottish Football all available as options.

Any selected topics will then appear at the top of the Home tab each time the app is opened, ensuring the latest Scotland stories are always the first thing supporters see.

Users who have previously set up My Sport can press Edit within the tab at any time to add Scotland-related topics or reorder their existing preferences.

With Scotland back on the world stage for the first time in 28 years, this coverage tool ensures supporters across the UK never miss a moment of the national team’s historic return.
