Brighton have agreed a deal worth £21.5m to sign winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish club AIK Stockholm.

The 18-year-old Nigerian winger will join the Seagulls on a five-year contract once the summer transfer window officially opens on Monday, 15 June.

Yohanna came through the Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before making the move to AIK Stockholm.

The teenager made his debut for the Swedish club in August 2025 and has made a strong impression in his first season of senior football.

Yohanna has contributed five goals and four assists in 18 appearances for AIK Stockholm, a return that has attracted interest from across Europe.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has spoken enthusiastically about the addition, making clear his excitement about what the young winger can offer.

“I’m looking forward to working with Zadok,” said Hurzeler. “Having seen his games and his attributes, he is a player that can impact games in the final third.”

Hurzeler acknowledged that Yohanna will require time to settle into life in England, but expressed confidence in the winger’s ability to excite supporters at the Amex.

“He’s still young, and will need time to adapt to the club and Premier League, but he’s an exciting player to watch and he brings the kind of creativity we know our fans will enjoy,” Hurzeler added.

Brighton have built a strong reputation for identifying and developing young talent from across the world, and this move fits that established recruitment model.

The deal represents a significant investment in one of the most promising teenage wingers to emerge from Swedish football in recent seasons.

Yohanna’s arrival gives Hurzeler another creative option in the final third as Brighton continue to push for a strong position in the Premier League.
