Steve Clarke has brought his Scotland squad to Fort Lauderdale for a pre-tournament camp ahead of their World Cup matches against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.

The players took part in Fifa’s content day, posing for photos and performing their celebrations in front of green screens during a busy schedule.

With the heat building in Florida, the squad were in the mood to expose their teammates’ biggest secrets, worst traits and what they truly think of each other.

John McGinn raised eyebrows by packing a European plug adaptor for a trip to the United States, though he insisted: “It was just a mistake!”

BBC Sport Scotland can confirm that Scotland’s vice-captain has since invested in the appropriate appliances to avoid a repeat of the error.

Ryan Christie is tracking his sleep during the tournament and has brought an oura ring and nose tape, and is thankfully not sharing a room with anyone, including Lyndon Dykes.

Liam Kelly, named the squad’s hype-man by several teammates, admitted he “needs to bring something to the party” after the description emerged during the media session.

Kelly also revealed he shaves Grant Hanley’s back on a regular basis, explaining simply that “the big man needs it, grows quickly.”

Hanley, described by McGinn as “a bear,” was deemed too large a travel companion by Christie, who complained the defender “takes up too much room” on the long flight from Glasgow.

Nineteen-year-old Findlay Curtis was labelled “me times 100” by McGinn, who added: “His energy’s been infectious; he’s a brilliant addition to the squad. A character, but I wouldn’t like to sit next to him.”

Curtis had his own strong opinions, declaring Ben Gannon-Doak the worst person to sit beside on a plane, saying “he doesn’t stop talking,” before admitting he sat next to him anyway.

Curtis also plans to sit beside Gannon-Doak again on the journey to New York for Saturday’s final friendly against Bolivia, suggesting the complaints are not entirely serious.

Scott McTominay had a coffee in hand throughout the content day, only putting it down when stepping into the body scanner for VAR use, fitting seamlessly into his Italian lifestyle.

Both Christie and Kelly named McTominay the squad’s “biggest poser,” while McLean offered an alternative view, noting: “There’s a lot of product in Anthony Ralston’s hair. He’s enjoying himself.”

McGinn nominated “the diva” George Hirst as his choice for biggest poser, before also using the words “moany, thick, halfway line and bald” to describe four unnamed teammates.
