Spanish daily AS report that Radamel Falcao will wear the number nine shirt next season at Real Madrid, seeing Karim Benzema take the vacant number ten shirt.
The Colombian striker is ready to join Real Madrid and is understood to have already agreed terms, preparing to join them after his country – Colombia, either win or exit the World Cup in Brazil.
Falcao, who spent time with Atletico Madrid in La Liga, had a tough time at French side Monaco last season, struggling with injury which prevented him from having a full season in Ligue 1.
Despite his poor form and troubles, Madrid have been buoyed by their recent talks with Falcao’s super agent – Jorge Mendes, who has had plenty of dealings with players and Madrid in the past.
The former Porto striker is expected to take the number nine shirt when he arrives, meaning French striker Karim Benzema will take the vacant number ten shirt, which Mesut Ozil vacated when he joined Premier League side Arsenal.
