Arsenal target set to join Monaco

Alvaro Morata

Spanish daily AS report that Alvaro Morata is likely to join AS Monaco and be included in a proposed deal seeing Radamel Falcao join Real Madrid.

Falcao, who has been forced to miss his country’s World Cup finals due to injury has been strongly linked with Real Madrid since he left Atletico Madrid last summer for French side Monaco, with super agent Jorge Mendes keen for his client to return to the Spanish capital.

Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked to the former Porto striker but it is now reported that a deal has been agreed and that Falcao will move to Madrid following the World Cup, in which he is following his country closely.

AS report that to compensate Monaco for allowing the Colombian to leave, young Spanish striker Alvaro Morata will move the opposite direction.

The likes of Arsenal and Juventus have shown deep interest in the Spanish U21 international already this summer, but it seems that Madrid have plans for the youngster, planning to set a buy-back clause in his contract at Monaco.
