The exact transfer fee of Diego Costa’s move to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid is being reported as £30.2m.
Costa has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer and following Spain’s exit from the World Cup in Brazil last week, the Brazilian-born striker is now set to jet into England and complete a deal.
Chelsea will pay a total of £30.2m for the former Rayo Vallecano man but the total of the fee will not go to Atletico Madrid, instead to his former clubs Braga, Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid.
AS reports that Costa’s first club Braga are due 20%, whilst Celta and Valladolid will receive 0.5%.
Following Costa’s move to Chelsea, the two clubs involved are likely to do more business with Filipe Luis being subject to an offer from the English club, however, Atletico have told the Blues that they will not accept anything less than his release clause.
Meanwhile, the future of Thibaut Courtois, owned by Chelsea, but on loan with Atletico for three seasons – is still questionable.
