Southampton looked to the Dutch Erdivisie to find their replacement for midfield star Adam Lallana, and they found him in FC Twente winger Dusan Tadic.
With Southampton turned upside-down by their summer exodus of players, the raid on the south coasters is far from over with Dejan Lovren, Nathanial Clyne, Morgan Schneiderlin and Callum Chambers tipped as the next suspects to follow Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Rickie Lambert out of the door.
The Saints have pocketed around £60M so far out of deals with Liverpool (for Lallana and Lambert) and Manchester United (for Shaw), so are busy creating their shopping list of players for their summer rebuilding project.
One said to be on his way to St Mary’s is FC Twente winger Dusan Tadic.
Serbia International Tadic, 25, has been earmarked as the replacement for captain Lallana, who shattered the hearts of Saints fans yesterday when he completed his transfer to Merseyside to follow his dream of playing Champions League football.
A fee of £9M has been agreed for the Serbian, who will likely be the first signing made by Southampton’s new first team coach Ronald Koeman.
An official announcement is expected to be made over the coming days.
