According to several reports in Italy, Manchester United have contacted Fiorentina about the possibility of signing Juan Cuadrado.

The 26-year-old has been in superb form for Colombia so far in the World Cup and has further enhanced his reputation as one of the most exciting forward players in world football.

Cuadrado who has been utilised by Fiorentina at right-back and right wing in recent seasons, can also adapt and play central, left or even as a lone forward, making his rating even higher than normal.

Barcelona have led the way in terms of summer interest, whilst German club Bayern Munich and North London side Arsenal have also shown interest.

However, Italian reports are claiming that Manchester United officials have been in contact this week about a possible move.

Dutch boss Louis van Gaal has been pleased with Cuadrado’s performances for Colombia in Brazil, where he has partnered with James Rodriguez to make his national side look like potential World Cup winners.

Cuadrado completed a move to Fiorentina back in 2012 after spells with Udinese and Lecce and he has since gone on to become vice-captain of the Serie A side.
