Southampton are lining up a move for Yohan Cabaye as they seek a replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin.

The current Paris Saint Germain midfielder is frustrated at a lack of first team opportunities at the Parisien club and is looking to come back to England, prompting a whole host of clubs to show interest.

The 29-year-old, 38 times capped French international has been linked with Crystal Palace in recent weeks where he looked set to link up with former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew, whom he has worked with in the past.

Tottenham have also held interest after Mauricio Pochettino made a personal call to Cabaye to make the move to White Hart Lane.

However, it is now understood that Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is ready to make a solid move for the Frenchman and replace Man United bound Morgan Schneiderlin.

The French club paid £18 million for his services, but are rumoured to be looking for around £10 million after seeing him fail to force his way into the starting eleven past the likes of Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi.
