Chelsea have agreed a £6.3 million deal for Fluminese striker Kenedy, whose rights are split between the club, BMG bank and the Brazilian’s agent.

Jose Mourinho’s side sealed a deal for Brazilian playmaker Nathan earlier this summer and it is now confirmed by Globosporte that they are close to sealing a deal for Kenedy.

The Blues are amongst a number of other Premier League clubs who have been monitoring the Brazilian youngster for a long time, having watched him burst on the scene for Fluminense.

Reports in England had claimed last month that Manchester United were favourites to complete his signature but it is now understood that Chelsea have made significant moves to complete a summer deal.

Kenedy is expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge in a relatively cheap deal worth just £5.8m.

Inter Milan and Barcelona have also been interested in the lively attacker, who has netted once in seven games for Brazil’s U20 side.
