Despite being unable to sign players this summer, Barcelona are reportedly now on the verge of signing Paul Pogba from Juventus.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, Barcelona Presidential candidate Joan Laporta has claimed he knows that Pogba is ‘very excited to come to Barcelona.’
Barcelona are unable to sign any players until 2016 because of a transfer ban. However, this has not stopped them making moves in the transfer market as they have already signed Aleix Vidal from Sevilla this summer.
The club are very confident that despite not being able to bring players in this summer, their success last season and the allure of playing for Barcelona are more than enough to still attract players.
As a result, they are certainly far from finished in this summer’s transfer market and Paul Pogba is now their number one target. Pogba has been linked with many clubs this summer, including Manchester City, but Barcelona is looking increasingly to be the young Frenchman’s next club.
The manager, Luis Enrique, and the players reportedly want the deal to be done, with all confident Pogba would be an instant success at the Nou Camp. His style of play would certainly fit in with the Barcelona mantra – he very comfortable on the ball, has a wide range of passing and looks to get the ball back as soon as possible. However, the Catalan club may not be used to someone attempting quite so many shots from outside the box.
