Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the situation regarding Angel Di Maria at Real Madrid, after Spanish daily AS reported that the Spanish club want to make James Rodriguez a summer signing.
Colombian play maker Rodriguez has set the World Cup alight in Brazil this summer and further enhanced his reputation after a good season with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
And, his performances have seen the likes of Real Madrid show interest, with reports in Spain claiming that a package is being prepared for the youngster to make a summer move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, that has also seen Argentine midfielder Angel Di Maria linked with a move away from the European champions, prompted Premier League clubs to show interest.
Manchester United have maintained interest in Di Maria for some-time but it is also understood that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is also keen, having worked with the former Benfica man during his time as Madrid coach.
Di Maria has been in superb from this summer in Brazil and played an important part for his country on Tuesday night, scoring an extra-time winner as they sealed a quarter-final spot over Switzerland.
