Arsenal are ready to make Petr Cech the highest paid goalkeeper in the club’s history and one of select band of players earning over £100,000-a-week at the Emirates.
The Czech Republic stopper spent over a decade as Chelsea‘s number one but the return of Thibaut Courtois from a three-year loan spell has seen his seen resigned to a place on the bench.
Cech has since received interest from a number of European and Premier League clubs, having been available by the Blues for transfer at just £10m.
And, it is now reported by Daily Mirror that the stopper is close to a move across London to Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is selling David Ospina this summer and is keen to offload Wojciech Szczesny after a number of on and off the field problems.
Cech is seen as the perfect replacement, given his experience, and has been guaranteed a starting place by Wenger at the Emirates.
A deal is likely to be confirmed with the next two weeks with a whopping £100,000 per week deal said to have been agreed between the club and Cech.
