Petr Cech is close to securing his move to Arsenal while Arsene Wenger has vowed to make the Chelsea goalkeeper his first choice next season.

The Czech Republic stopper spent over a decade as Chelsea‘s number one but the return of Thibaut Courtois from a three-year loan spell has seen his seen resigned to a place on the bench.

Cech has since received interest from a number of European and Premier League clubs, having been available by the Blues for transfer at just £10m.

And, it is now reported by Daily Mirror that the stopper is close to a move across London to Arsenal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is selling David Ospina this summer and is keen to offload Wojciech Szczesny after a number of on and off the field problems.

Cech is seen as the perfect replacement, given his experience, and has been guaranteed a starting place by Wenger at the Emirates.

A deal is likely to be confirmed with the next two weeks.
