Radamel Falcao has given the biggest hint yet he is set to complete a loan move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

After a string of poor performances for United this season and a lack of playing time under Louis van Gaal, Falcao was sent back to Ligue 1 side Monaco earlier this week.

Having signed on a one-year loan deal last summer, the Colombian was fully expected to secure a permanent move to United, but failed to live up to their expectations, scoring just four goals.

Super agent Jorge Mendes has recently stated that the former Atletico Madrid striker would join an ‘elite’ club and it is understood that he is now working on a potential move to either Chelsea, where boss Jose Mourinho is very keen.

And, speaking after his side beat Brazil 1-0 in the Copa America, when asked if he was close to joining Chelsea, the striker replied.

“It can be, you will know soon,” Falcao said with a smile.

“I’m just thinking of the Copa America and the squad. My staff are taking care of this.”
