Liverpool to offer £17m for Newcastle United winger

Liverpool are considering moving for Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko with the Frenchman allowed to leave for £17m.

Brendan Rodgers has previously been interested in the talented French international but chose to slash the cash on Mario Balotelli last summer.

Balotelli’s failings have seen the Northern Irish boss look to bolster his attacking options and although Sissoko is not a front-man, the Reds boss is keen to link him up with Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings next season.

Ings is set to move to Anfield from Burnley, whilst a bid for Sissoko is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Newcastle United are resigned to losing their top performer from last season and have told interested clubs that he can leave for a value of £17m.

Sissoko is keen to remain in England having found success in the country with his consistent performances, which have gained him a regular place in the French national side.

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain have shown interest in the past.
