Bastian Schweinsteiger wants to stay at Bayern Munich and has rejected the advances of Manchester United, according to Bild.

Talks over a new contract for the German International were said to have slowed down between Bayern and the midfielder, subsequently alerting a number of European clubs to show interest.

The 30-year-old has been at Bayern Munich since 2002, and has accumulated over 325 appearances for the German giants, and it’d certainly be a significant change in his life if he were to move to the Premier League.

Manchester United have been the most frequently reported club to show interest with former Bayern boss Louis van Gaal keen to sign the World Cup winning midfielder.

Chelsea have also been interested, but reports on Friday in German media outlet Bild claim that he has told Bayern officials that he wants to remain at the Allianz Arena next season.
