Liverpool have signed goalkeeper Adam Bogdan from Championship side Bolton on a free transfer.

Having already signed both James Miner and Danny Ings on free transfers, Liverpool have done a lot of business early and are yet to spend a penny.

However, the signing of Bogdan has raised a few eyebrows. His last season at Bolton, who ended up finishing a disappointing 18th in the Championship, was plagued by injury and he made just thirteen appearances all season.

The Hungarian international has represented his country 17 times and has over 100 Premier League games under his belt, but it is the goal Tim Howard scored against him from 100 yards that he is arguably most remembered for.

After an impressive first season at Anfield, Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet has had an unconvincing Liverpool career and though he seemed to find some of his Sunderland-form at the back end of last season, many Liverpool fans would have surely hoped for more when it was announced today that the club had acquired a new keeper.
