Southampton have seen a £12m bid for Grzegorz Krychowiak rejected by Europa League champions Sevilla, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Arguably one of European football’s top performers this season, Grzegorz Krychowiak has been outstanding for Spanish side Sevilla, helping them to a Europa League win last month over Dnipro.

Linked with a summer move, the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been watching on attentively but it is Southampton who are making serious moves to complete a deal.

The 25-year-old Polish star has been capped by his country 24 times and was signed by Sevilla for £4.5m but a latest bid from Southampton of nearly double that has been rejected.

The Spanish side reportedly value the midfielder at around £22m, mirroring a minimum release clause which he has in his current contract with the club.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman is only likely to pay that amount if he loses Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin, leaving Arsenal as potential favourites to sign the Polish international.
