Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made Paris Saint Germain forward Edinson Cavani his number one transfer target.
Having struggled to get the best out of Colombian Radamel Falcao and Dutch striker Robin van Persie this season, Van Gaal is desperate to provide Wayne Rooney with a suitable strike partner.
United have solely relied on Rooney this season, although at times the England international has been forced to play in a more deeper role.
A number of options have come to the forefront for Van Gaal with Cavani and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane both linked.
However, Kane is now off that list as Van Gaal looks to bid for the former, who is known to be unhappy at Parc des Princes with Paris Saint Germain.
