Lazio have told Manchester United that they want £72.1m for Felipe Anderson, according to Corriere dello Sport.

United sent chief scout Jim Lawlor has been a frequent watcher of the Brazilian forward and was highly impressed following a 2-0 win over Verona earlier this year, in which the talent scored.

Lawlor has since returned to Old Trafford to put his report into boss Louis van Gaal, although doubts over whether or not the English club will make a summer move continue.

The 21-year-old recently signed a new deal with the Serie A club and reports claimed he had an asking price of around £30m, but conflicting reports now claim that Lazio have told the English club to pay £71.2m.

Negotiations to lower the price are ongoing with the Italian club keen to explore the chances of having Adnan Januzaj on loan as part of the deal.
