Madrid in £45m Sterling move

Real Madrid will open talks with Liverpool over a £45 million move for Raheem Sterling within the next two weeks, according to reports.

The Liverpool midfielder has expressed a desire to leave Anfield this summer after refusing to enter contract talks.

Benitez is set to be appointed Real manager next week after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked earlier this week following a season of disappointment at the Santiago Bernabeu and is a huge fan of the young English winger.

Sterling has turned down a £90,000 a week offer from Liverpool as he wants to play regular Champions League football.

And, reports in Spanish and English press claim a £45m bid from the Spanish giants is set to be made.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City have also expressed an interest, whilst Arsenalhave been keen, but Benitez’s Liverpool connection will put the Spanish side in pole position to complete a move.
