Contrary to reports, Sunderland have so far made no approach to Burnley to speak to manager Sean Dyche, according to Sky Sports.

Reports have linked the Burnley boss with a move to the Stadium of Light after Dick Advocaat left his role at the club following the final day in the Premier League.

Advocaat announced his retirement from the game following final day, but calls from fans were made for him to stay after keeping the Black Cats in the top flight.

Dyche, who was relegated with Burnley has been largely praised by many for his performance but links to Sunderland have now been deemed false by Sky Sports News.

Former West Ham and Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce and German coach Armon Veh are linked with the job.
