Aston Villa have joined the race to sign Manchester United defender Jonny Evans this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Northern Ireland centre back has one year remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford and is fully expected to leave this summer after failing to impress boss Louis van Gaal.
Van Gaal is keen to bring in a couple of defensive options, having been linked with the likes of Mats Hummels and Nicolas Otamendi in recent weeks.
Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also linked with Evans, who remains keen on finding first team football next season.
Villa, who have struggled in the Premier League this season are keen to bolster their defensive options and find a regular partner for Dutchman Ron Vlaar.
Evans, who made only 12 Premier League starts for United, is valued at around £5m.
