Carlo Ancelotti has been in talks with AC Milan to return for a second stint as manager

The Italian previously coached the side between 2001 and 2009 in which he won two Champions League crowns and one Serie A title

Current Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi is to step down after a poor maidan campaign with Rossoneri after only managing 12 league wins all season

Ancelotti was dismissed from his post at Real Madrid on Wednesday despite leading them to their first European triumph since 2002 in his first season

He has also been linked with a return to the Premier League with Liverpool and Manchester City expected to keep tabs on his availability

The Italian told Giornale he is in no rush to decide his future and says his forthcoming spinal operation is the main focus

He said:” I don’t know how long the period of recovery will be. I can assure you that I have had many offers. I’m sure that they won’t be lacking from here until next year.”

I think this would be a great appointment for Milan and could be the catalyst for a revival in Italian football.
