Man United target Clasie interesting Roma

Feyenoord’s captain Jordy Clasie has emerged as a transfer target for Roma.

A bid worth £13 million is expected to be made by the Italian side for the 23 year old Dutch international, who has 11 caps for his country, and was a member of the 2014 World Cup squad.

The diminutive midfielder has a playing style that has been likened to Barcelona’s Xavi, and his form has attracted interest from a number of top European sides this season, including Manchester United.

Clasie, has also been linked with both Newcastle United and Southampton in recent weeks.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman is fully aware of the club’s willingness to sell their top performers after seeing the likes of Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert leave last summer before he arrived at the club.

Newcastle United are also keen and are keen to swap Vurnon Anita and cash for the £7m rated Netherlands international.
