Liverpool will hold Suarez ‘crisis’ meeting today

Luis Suarez

Football Express News understands that Liverpool will hold a ‘crisis’ meeting over the future of Luis Suarez, after another controversial incident involving the striker.

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has had a career full of poor behaviour and unfortunate incidents and none more so than during his time with Liverpool in the Premier League.

Suarez was banned by the English Football Association for a racist remark made to Manchester United’s Patrice Evra in 2011, followed by a biting incident with Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic in 2013.

Despite subsequent bans, Suarez seems to have not learned his lesson and was once again involved in a biting incident whilst on international duty with Uruguay, biting the shoulder of Giorgio Chiellini in their final World Cup group game against Italy.

Football’s governing body FIFA have since banned Suarez for nine official international games and four months of any footballing activity.

The incident however, has not stopped La Liga giants Barcelona from showing interest, prompting many reports that the Catalan side are prepared to sign the striker.

It is now understood that a board meeting has been called for Monday afternoon where the club’s hierarchy will discuss the future of the striker.

Suarez’ ban means he will not return to competitive football until the first week of November.
