According to a number of sources, Sami Khedira, has had a medical and is set to sign for Italian champions, Juventus.

The medical has been carried out in Madrid and reports are that Khedira and his agent will be signing a contract worth £3 million a year later this week, rejecting contract talks with Premier League side Arsenal.

A number of English sides have shown interest in the German midfielder this season as his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu edges closer to expiration.

The 28 year old is a free agent this summer, where he has only made 11 appearances this season, mainly due to injuries but also some non selections, and has been unhappy with the treatment he has received at the club.

The medical has not brought up any injury problems, so the 54 times capped German international, appears to be kick starting his career in Italy.

Writers Prediction – HIT. If Khedira is over his injury problems this is an excellent signing for Juventus. The player is versatile in a central midfield role, can screen the defence in a holding role, but also has the energy and drive and technical ability to play an attacking midfield role. The signing aside I guess Juventus fans may well be thinking is this player coming in as Arturo Vidal or Paul Pogba leaving, or even both?
