Manchester United are in poll position to land German sensation Marco Reus for around £50m this summer from Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid have reportedly pulled out of the race for the 25-year-old, and now Van Gaal wants the German at Old Trafford, according to Metro.

Manchester United are preparing a £50m bid to sign the Dortmund star. Arsenal were also wanting to sign Reus in the summer, but reports say they are lagging behind to get the signature of the 25-year-old.

Real Madrid, reportedly had the chance to sign Reus from Dortmund last summer, but went and signed World Cup superstar James Rodriguez, now Los blancos are not interested in signing the German.

Reus who has missed a lot of this season due to injury, has scored seven and has five assists in twenty appearances in the Bundesliga. In the Champions Leage the German international has scored three goals in four games for the yellow and blacks.

Writers View: I think moving away from Dortmund and the Bundesliga this season is the right decision as Dortmund have had a poor domestic season, but I don’t think Manchester is the right destination for him.
