United target relaxed about future

Vidal

Manchester United target Arturo Vidal has revealed that he is “calm” about the speculation surrounding his future at Juventus.

The Chile midfielder, who endured the bitter experience of exiting the World Cup after a penalty shoot-out defeat at the hands of host nation Brazil on Saturday, told Italian source TuttoSport his immediate priority is to go on holiday with his family.

According to the report, United will have to pay at least £50million to secure the 27-year-old’s services during the summer transfer window, as they look to continue their rebuilding process.

The Red Devils have already added England defender Luke Shaw and midfield man Ander Herrera to their ranks, with the pair arriving from Southampton and Athletic Bilbao respectively.

Vidal is high on the hitlist but the Juve star said: “Now I’m going on a bit of a vacation, I need to relax with the family, so I can come back stronger than before.

“Reassure fans I am calm, peaceful.”

Vidal, who helped Antonio Conte’s side successfully defend their Serie A title during the 2013-14 campaign, has three years remaining on his current contract with the Turin giants.

He has formed a formidable midfield partnership with ex-United youngster Paul Pogba at the heart of the Juve engine room.
