Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe capped off an incredible season in charge of the promoted club by clinching the League Manager’s Association award

Howe managed to defy the odds and clinch automatic promotion to the Premier League and hand Bournemouth their first ever campaign in the top flight of English football.

The Cherries ended the season as Championship winners and amassed an impressive 98 league goals and only endured defeat on eight occasions.

Howe was delighted to win the accolade but was still quite shocked to beat Premier League winning manager Jose Mourinho. He said: “I can’t believe it, I’m so surprised.”

The impressive promotion has made Howe one of the most highly regarded young managers in the country.

Writers View: I think he definitely deserved the award because he has achieved something special and unique. He has installed belief into his players and displayed tactical discipline befitting of someone who has the potential to reach the very top.
