Manchester United remain keen on Dani Alves

Dani Alves, 32, is set to leave Barcelona on a free transfer this summer, and Manchester United have become strongly linked with the Brazilian International.

United boss Louis van Gaal wants to strengthen his side this summer ahead of what he hopes will be a title challenging campaign next season.

Having struggled to find a regular right back this season, Van Gaal has turned his attention to a number of transfer targets that include Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Barcelona’s Alves.

Whilst, the former is unlikely to leave St. Marys stadium this summer, Brazil international Alves’ future with the Barca is said to be at breaking point.

Reports claim that the experienced defender, is leaving Barcelona after the Champions League final, as he has failed to agree terms on his contract with the Spanish side.

Manchester United may have to give the Brazilian high wages on a short term deal to fight off competition from Juventus and Paris-Saint Germain.

Writers View: I think deciding to move away from Barcelona is a good choice for Alves, as he wants a new challenge, and the premier league will test his work ethic.
